How Often is it Safe to Detox?
We recommend detoxing 3-4 times a year (with the change of seasons is nice), for 2 days to 20 days at a time. (This depends on your health needs and current health challenges, and could only be evaluated at our clinic).
What Detoxification Programs/Protocols are Recommended at Living Well?
We only use safe, effective, and clinically-supervised detox programs at Living Well. We have several options. All options include herbal support that is necessary for liver and colon function, as well as plenty of hydration, and FOOD. A detox program that only includes pills/capsules, but doesn’t prescribe a food program along with it, or a detox program that requires going without food for more than 3 days should be considered only under doctor supervision. At Living Well, we understand the science behind what the liver and digestive tract need to detox safely and properly, and we do not agree with most “mainstream” over-the-counter cleanses claiming to detox the whole body. Women who are nursing or pregnant should not detox. People with certain health challenges or diseases need to detox a certain way, under supervision.
