Since 2006, Amy has been certified in functional blood chemistry analysis. We all do our best to have our “yearly physical” or get “yearly lab work” to make sure our cholesterol, vitamin D levels, etc. are in range. What we tend to hear from our clients over and over again, is that they don’t feel good, don’t feel normal, feel poorly most of the time, yet their doctor has told them that they are “normal”. At Living Well, through functional blood chem analysis, we can tell our clients where the “normal” lab ranges may indicate one thing, we can identify deficiencies, compromised cellular function, and other imbalances when observing lab scores in functional range.
What is the difference between functional and lab ranges? Typically, the range itself. For example, “normal lab” range for fasting glucose serum may be 65-99. Our bodies however, function better and optimally between 85-99. Thyroid testing is another category where, from a nutrition prospective, many people are under-diagnosed with low functioning thyroid because lab ranges are so wide and forgiving.
Benefits of Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis include a more accurate, individualized assessment of:
- thyroid function
- biliary, liver and kidney function
- overall immune function
- digestive health
- blood sugar balance
At Living Well, we are able to customize your nutrition and supplement protocol to support your symptoms and cellular health, without medication. Time and time again, we’ve watched our clients (along with their doctor’s guidance and supervision) reduce and even eliminate prescriptions after we’ve worked with their blood work to assess cellular function and support accordingly.
Everyone is different. We all have unique biochemistry. So the one-size-fits-all prescriptions for weight loss and for band-aiding symptoms does not work long term.
In our office, you can simply bring recent blood work in for us to evaluate, or we can direct you to affordable and easy-to-obtain blood work up resources without a doctor or hospital.
Remember, if you are struggling with unwanted health symptoms, and you hear “nothing is wrong with you” because your blood work is in “normal” lab range, you have options. Your slight imbalances will not be flagged on a lab report– we can help hone in on those imbalances through functional blood chemistry analysis and guide you on next steps so your body can recover and be supported, and eventually function at 100%!
